FAQ
General Questions
1. What is TickerTerminal HyperMarkets?
TickerTerminal HyperMarkets is a decentralized prediction market platform on the Hyperliquid network. It allows users to participate in markets predicting financial outcomes using an automated market maker (AMM) mechanism.
2. How do prediction markets work?
Prediction markets allow users to buy and sell shares representing different outcomes (Higher or Not Higher). The price of each share reflects the market's collective belief about the likelihood of that outcome. When a market resolves, winning shares are redeemed proportionally to the round's treasury.
3. What is an AMM?
An Automated Market Maker (AMM) is a mathematical pricing mechanism that automatically adjusts share prices based on supply and demand. This ensures continuous liquidity and fair price discovery without relying on traditional order books.
4. What network does TickerTerminal use?
TickerTerminal is built on the Hyperliquid network (HyperEVM).
5. Do I need to hold any native tokens to use the platform?
Yes. You will need HYPE on HyperEVM to participate in markets. Ensure your wallet is funded and connected to the correct network.
6. Is TickerTerminal HyperMarkets safe?
TickerTerminal HyperMarkets is fully non-custodial. You maintain control of your wallet and funds at all times. However, always DYOR (Do Your Own Research) when participating in any market.
Market Resolution
7. How are markets resolved?
Markets are resolved based on Hyperliquid's native perp oracle. Once a market closes, anyone can initiate the resolve call and receive the resolver fees. Winning shares can be redeemed proportionally to the round's treasury.
8. What are rounds?
Markets on TickerTerminal HyperMarkets operate in rounds. Each round has a specific duration (10 minutes), and markets resolve at the end of each round based on the outcome at that time.
9. What if the price stays exactly the same?
If the price is equal at resolution, the "Not Higher" side wins.
Trading & Shares
10. Can I sell my shares before a market closes?
Yes! You can buy and sell shares at any time before the market closes. The AMM ensures continuous liquidity for all active markets.
11. Can I change my bet after placing it?
You cannot change a bet, but you can sell your outcome shares before the round closes.
12. What happens if I hold shares when a market closes?
If you hold winning shares when a market resolves, you can redeem them proportionally to the round's treasury. Losing shares become worthless after resolution.
Winnings & Claims
13. How long do I have to claim winnings?
There is no time limit. You can claim winnings at any time, even after the market is delisted.
14. What happens to my bet if I don't claim immediately?
Your winnings remain claimable indefinitely. They don't expire or get redistributed.
Fees
15. Are there any fees?
Yes. TickerTerminal HyperMarkets charges a flat 0.3% fee on all trades, distributed as follows:
60% goes to the protocol
40% is reserved for the round's resolver
